January 29, 2020

You’ve been itching to know when Maha Festival will be this year, and now that day has come! Get August 5-8, 2020 on your calendar, and whatever you do, plan to be in Omaha for this.

Update 4/7/2020: Maha Festival 2020 is canceled due to the effects of the coronavirus pandemic, but the festival will return in 2021! Read the full statement here.

Maha Festival will be in three different neighborhoods this year:

This is one week sooner than the festival has been in recent years. No more back-to-school jitters cramping your festival style!

What’s happening at Maha Festival?

In addition to the musical performances from national and local acts, conference talks, dozens of nonprofits to get to know at the Community Village, plus fabulous local food, comedy, art, wellness events, and more spread across the four days, there are some shiny, new additions to the Maha Festival roster:

Omaha Lit Fest will take place in conjunction with Maha Festival on August 5-6. This annual event is a shared experience for both readers and authors, and will include panels, readings, and talks with featured authors of both local and national profile. Plus, a community fair, interaction with authors, and book signings. Check out omaha-lit-fest.com to learn more.

Maha Festival will also debut a unique, new regional craft beer experience on August 8 in partnership with the Nebraska Craft Brewers Guild — a nonprofit trade association advocating and promoting the craft brewing industry in the state of Nebraska. Learn more about the Guild at nebraska.beer, and stay tuned for details on the event.

Coming Soon!

Lineups, tickets, event schedule, and volunteer registration are all right on the horizon. It may be the dead of winter, but don’t fret: Maha’s summer vibes will be here in no time. ☀️
